Escape Velocity Plays main role

The Natural Satellite moon is revolving around the earth simply because the moon is within the escape velocity of the earth i.e 11.2 km/s. Using this concept the artificial satellites were launched by the scientists. The rocket which carries the satelllites releases it at particular height so that it will be above the gravitational pull but within the escape velocity so that it starts revolving above the earth without falling down.
